My name is Laura Bond and I’m a freelance journalist, based in London. In the last ten years I’ve worked on the staff of Tatler and Psychologies magazine and written features for a wide variety of publications including The Sunday Times, Healthy Magazine, Cosmopolitan and Nature and Health.
I focus on trend-led features looking at everything from the future of fitness to why our soaring stress levels could be making us fat (and setting us up for diseases like cancer).
Recently I graduated as a health coach from New York’s Institute for Integrative Nutrition, the largest nutrition school in the world.
During the year long course, I studied over 100 dietary theories and discovered innovative wellness strategies from some of the world’s leading experts including Dr. Andrew Weil, Dr. Deepak Chopra and Sally Fallon.
IIN has a unique food philosophy based on a few central tenets, including the following:
* Bio-individuality – every person is different and what works for one person will not necessarily work for the next.
* ‘Crowding out’ – the diet with delicious wholesome foods, rather than focusing on eliminating food groups.
* The Fundamentals – recognizing that how we live is just as important as what we eat: in other words, relationships, career, spirituality and even getting a good night’s sleep can be just as important as nutrient-dense meals.
